Mojave Desert/Antelope Valley/California City/Edwards AFB and other sundrie items

I started last week as a crew chief in training at the 912 Maintenance Squadron. We maintain F-16s that are used for the testing of various things by the Air Force. We rented a house in California City. It is a bedroom community for the base. And it is in the Desert It is rather nice to be working again after having been laid off in February at Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita. The kidney cancer didn't make things any easier. But it is now out of the way and the kidney is gone. I have to have… Continue

Unemployed but Optimistic

I have been unemployed for a few months now, and the hardest thing for us has been dealing with no Medical insurance. We now have some Temporary medical insurance to tide us over. We also have some good job leads. I was wondering though how everyone felt about the Obama plan for public funded health care. Being without insurance for awhile, I am for some changes, but not sure what.

The Greens Have Gone Too Far

Do Not Tell Me What Toilet Paper To Use. That’s just one step over the line. Rant all you want about my SUV, my carbon footprint, my wood stove, my meat eating habits, my cows in the field. But when it comes to wiping MY ass, kindly butt out.

The New York Times reports this morning that, … The country’s soft-tissue habit — call it the Charmin effect — has not escaped the notice of environmentalists, who are increasingly making toilet tissue manufacturers the targets of campai

Comment on Sudden jihad syndrome by no2liberals

Yep, then you have Gen. Casey spewing his nonsense about diversity. An interesting note to muslims in our military. There approximately 3,500 in our military, but in the Israeli armed forces, which is considerably smaller than our military, they have more muslims serving than we. With no problems, I might add. In fact, during the '06 war with the Hezbos, an elite unit of muslims in the Israeli Army were attacked and wiped out by the Hezbos. The Hezbos celebrated. So much for that "muslim brother" BS.

Looks like the military trained ones were by far the most successful. Definitely shows a need for more attention being paid to Muslims (and their personal views) in the military. I am not saying that all Muslims in the US Military are terrorist. Just saying we need better over sight in order to pick up on the ones that might be leaning in that direction.
