Banned of Brothers

I have been unemployed for a few months now, and the hardest thing for us has been dealing with no Medical insurance. We now have some Temporary medical insurance to tide us over. We also have some good job leads. I was wondering though how everyone felt about the Obama plan for public funded health care. Being without insurance for awhile, I am for some changes, but not sure what.

I got laid off in February. I got a regular paycheck until April as a part of the agreement with the IAM/AW. The unemployment ran out three weeks ago, just before I had surgery to remove a cancerous kidney. I do have an advantage in that I do have health coverage at all times. I am retired from the US Navy and as such I have what is known as Tricare. It covers myself and my wife. It is a target of the Obama/Baucus/Reid/Pelosi Socialized Medicine plans. Armed Forces Retirees are not considered worthy to them. The cost so far is about 29K of which I will be responsible for about 3 to 4 thousand. When I start my new job in November, they will get 50 bucks a month!
But the new public option plan with it's restrictions and fees will be more of an intrusion on our personal lives than of any service or benefit. It isn't about health care/insurance. It's about control. They believe that the individual is incapable of making there own decisions.
