A fifth generation Texan whose families were whisky makers and timber owners on one side and contract Indian fighters and oil wildcatters on the other. My father owned a gun shop and range in Oak Hill and I began shooting at age four. Raised in a manner similar to Samurai values I recieved my first weapons at age five and was schooled in military arts and martial arts from age eight studying Kodokan Judo from third dan Robbie Robinson until graduating to hand to hand combat at age thirteen. Then the curriculm moved to Kenpo and Soryu Karate and Special Forces Jiu-Jitsu until age twenty six when I began Chinese Animal forms. Out of all this I spent two wonderful years learning from James Thornton in the Society of the Black Lion. Mr Thornton combined my skills and taught me the power of chi. I had many opportunities to spar with both he and Robert Burke who is one of only two persons to hold a 4th Degree Black Belt in American Wu Shen Pai Kenpo. To them I am eternally grateful
